STHLM Day 3

Ah.... today the jet lag is winning.  So tired.  And at a dark 4:30 it feels like 10:30.  It is super cold, and I'm amazed how many Swedes are OK with just a leather jacket and converse.  They are hardcore!

We've been having fun prepping our single release...trying to get the artwork sorted out, radio station interviews set up, and pushing the song in rotation.  Watched a rough version of the video and we love it already, it's gonna be dope.

Then we went to the Valhalla Bageriet (Bakery) on recommendation from our friend Malin.  All we can say is : Wow.  It's a real-deal phenomenal European bakery with gorgeous whole grain breads.  We had a cinnamon bun, a cardamom bun, and this hummus and carrot baguette...why doesn't this exist more in America?!?!?!  Just delicious, and there's no guilt eating bread when it's this yummy, fresh, and nourishing.

Matt got the Nexus synth so expect some awesome electro tracks as usual!  :)
Peace.

STHLM Day 2

So we are pretty jetlagged but not too bad.  Those "No Jet Lag" herbal remedy pills from New Zealand sold at Whole Foods works quite well!

We had a great day and still more to do.  It is COLD!!  and lightly snowed.  We met our team at Universal and we are stoked about what''s to come.  We recorded some blurbs/clips for radio stations and blogs which was unexpected but a great experience.  Thanks to Skip at SkipTV we've had some practice interviewed in front of the camera, and we did some blurbs for Tastemakers Magazine's radio podcast so we weren't virgins in that regard.

Then we had a yummy company lunch.  I had an Asiatisk Wallenburger with edamebonor (LOL!)..so yummy!

Then we went to Cosmos Studio where Axwell frequents but we didn't meet him.  We started a song called "Break The Law" with an amazing producer/writer named Tony Nillson.  We met him in LA last year and it was such a great experience collaborating.  It's always fun to see other producers' processes and tricks and we definitely absorbed new info like a sponge.

Another reason why Tony is amazing is because he got us CHOCOLATE COVERED BILAR!!!  Our favorite!!!!

Now we have to have dinner and compile our photos/bio for the label.

Oh, and one last pic for Jeremy.  Look what they are selling at the organic cafe just downstairs from our hotel!

God Natt.

First day in STHLM

And so the trip begins with a publishing meeting and seeing old friends.  And of course a big bag of Swedish candy and Jordgubb-Lime Ramlosa!

We love the wholesome food here.  Bulgur (kinda like a couscous-pilaf) with chicken, roasted corn, spinach, green, red, & yellow peppers, lettuce & feta cheese, called the Marrakesh salad, so good!

Here's us at the Warner-Chappell office:

We are staying in a very central area and love that we have our own balcony. Here are 2 shots, the night sky and the morning sky! The night sky was a BIG full moon and you could watch the clouds rolling by.

It's great having a view above the rooftops...so European, we love it!!!!

Killa Thought

I try not to think of pain & discomfort as negative.  It is how we learn.  it is how we grow.  it is why we came back.  to experience these feelings is as much a gift because it means we are alive, here on Earth.  When we can appreciate the value of our perceived pain, maybe then we are ready to receive our highest pleasure and joy with the fullest potential to appreciate and experience vast gratitude.  I hope everyone every day could conquer a challenge, endure discomfort positively, feel grace & gratitude, and spend time with their loves and passions.  When we are working on our show or music, we experience all of these things.  .....just a mushy holiday sentiment.... :)

BLOG REVIEW HERE: http://alienhits.blogspot.com/2010/11/killabite-follow-me-home.html

"You say you're the perfect guy"

I receive so many emails from bands and managers, yet 99% of the songs I'm sent do not mesh with the type of music I post on alienhits. I'm pretty strict about submissions. That's why it makes me so happy when I'm sent something that gets me excited. This band's so well-fitted to this blog that I'm posting their track a mere hour after I received it. Killabite are an electropop duo from L.A. (always nice to hear some new American acts) and their EP (posted on soundcloud) shows quite a bit of promise. My favorite track is the pulsing Follow Me Home, which alternates between computerized robotic vocals and Chau Phan's luscious voice (which reminds me of Lisa from the Lovemakers). There are hooks upon hooks here. It could almost be a Girls Aloud or Mini Viva track. It's got that big, bubblegum pop sound to it. Definitely a band to watch!
